See there are 4 women called out in Matthew’s genealogy of Jesus. It’s super abnormal in a very patriarchal society and religious structure to name women in a genealogy. Like even if the line goes through the mom, her husband is still typically named.
So these 4 women, of course in addition to Mary, are called out here and let’s be clear, it ain’t because they are perfect little house wives.
Each of their stories are full of scandal, pain, and betrayal.
